Congratulations to Diversity

Have you been watching Britain's Got Talent 2009?

I have, and it has been amazing. Probably the best set of acts that I have seen on this show since it started. Although I would say that a few only got through on the sympathy / cute vote.

But not Diversity. They have been amazing and entertaining every time they have performed, and even managed to improve and surprise each time as well.

Well deserved winners and i have a feeling that we will be seeing much more from this group of friends over the years.

Congratulations again, and have a great time at teh Royal Variety Show!

Speeding footballer

Do we really care? You you? I Don't!

So a person was charged with speeding, and he happens to be a member of the England team. So what.

Does that make him less of a human being? Less normal? Less able to play football.

No, it justs means he got caught!

Champions League

Well, the violence has started already. A United fan has been stabbed in Rome! What a surprise that its the Spanish starting the trouble. But, the officials have asked the fans not to go without a ticket. But have only allocated 20,000 tickets to each of the sides. That won't even cover the season ticket holders that will want to b there, let alone the rest of the fans. So what did they expect?

mother in the freezer!

Could you do it?

Keep your mum in a freezer, in the garage, for up to 20 years?

Well its been done. Police were called in after a neighbour raised the alarm. They found the body in the garage freezer, and at the moment are treating it as natural causes rather than a suspicious death.

Then why oh why do it? Would you really want that, imagine a power cut or if it broke down? The smell! How would you explain it or deal with it then?

Not a nice thought

Button Wins!

Button won from pole, again!

Not wanting to take anything away from another great win, and another british win. But the fact that so many of the races are now won from pole, doesn;t it mean that the races are less important? Less chance to make a difference, unless their is an accident or failure.

It used to be that they claimed many races were won or lost in the pits, now is seems that the qualifying strategy is more important than anything else.

Never the less - well done Jenson

Sunday 24 May 2009

Monaco Grand Prix

Button on pole yet again!!! Come on you Brit!

Nice to see a Brit doing it again, shame it isn't Lewis Hamilton, but good that it is a Brit non the less.

McLaren seriously need to sort things out though. Yes today's pathetic starting place for Hamilton is his own fault, but what are the team doing? They are still struggling to compete with the rest of the pack.

Baby P - I'm sorry!

IS she for real? The mother of Baby P has apologised for failing him, causing him suffering and pain! Bit late for that, as with her partner and lodger, they killed him! What sort of life, short though it was, must that poor little boy have had. No love, no tenderness and no fun. Instead the people that are meant to protect him abused and killed him. Makes me sick. Added to the fact that social services and everyone else 'missed' the signs. What were they doing? What were they looking at? Or was it more a case of 'I'm busy, got too many cases to handle so just rush through and do the minimum amount that I have too'. Sick bastards

Energy / Fuel Provider's

Having just had my latest feul bills, and nearly a heart attack, I though i woudl check out the available services.

So, having heard the advert so many times I tried U Switch....

Put in my details, how much it all costs etc to see what they say..

And the results, well I ertainly am NOT one of the people that they can save hundreds of pounds for every year. Yes, they could maybe save me a bit, but I could do that myself, by using more power at night when I get it cheaper, simply doing the washing and oterh stuf during the off peak hour's would save me as much.

My question is, has anyone actually made the savings of hundreds of pounds by using a service liek this?

Royal Mail - killing themselves off

Are the manager's / executive's at the top of the Royal Mail totally stupid?

We all know that email, online messaging (IM) and text are becoming more and more popular, as they are quicker, easier, cheaper or even FREE.

Yet the idiots in charge of our already failing postal system put the prices up! Unless of course you are a business and have a franking machine!

They claim it is because of increasing costs. Well if that is the case surely if you register online and use the site to print the postage directly onto your mail then that should be discounted as well. After all there are no costs to the royal mail, and they even have your money in advance!

But no, they are killing an already dying service.

Breast Feeding in public - yes or no?

Are you offended by it? And if so WHY? It is the most natural thing in the world, and gives the baby the best start it can get. All the anti bodies and goodness from it's mother. I am asking after an incident at a leisure centre pool in nottingham today. A mother was feeding her 11 week old baby whilst watching her 4 year old swim. And she was asked to stop breast feeding by a member of staff. Not for maybe showing a bit of a boob, but because it breached the centre rule of no food or drink by the pool! What a total jobs worth who obviously doesn't have any common sense! The leisure centre and local council have apologused and made it clear that breast feeding IS acceptable anywhere! Just how it should be

Liverpool V West Brom

Well, I was a neutral watching the match today, and would have to say that Liverpool may have the two goals and be the winner's but West Brom deserved the win.

They played with much more desire, more fire, more passion. Yes, they needed to win to have any chance of staying in the premiership. But Liverpool could have lost 2nd place to Chelsea, yet you woudl never have known it.

So well done Liverpool, but comisserations to West Brom. You played your hearts out and tried, tried and tried again.

Eurovision Song contest

I have just seen the tv guide and realised that this is on tonight.

To be honest, I didn't realise that it was still held!

Oops! LOL

But, seriously, does anyone actually still watch this?

Isn't it just another form of political buddy making, as the voting depends on who are friends, not on how good the song and performance is?

Expense scandel gets worse

Or is it better?

Everyday more and more revelations about how MP's and government minister's (past & present) have and are claiming for expenses that they are not entitled to.

For repairs, improvements, pools, cleaner's, trouser presses, security, TV's, mortgage interest and more... what will be next!

But, I have just seen the bets so far. An MP claiming that he doesnt think his constituents would mind his having claimed for a £1050 TV! A better TV than he has in his main family home!

Why are we even paying for a TV? Surely if he gets a salary, gets his 2nd home paid for etc he can furbish it himself?

But he will now pay it back to good causes coz he has done nothing wrong!

According to the rules? maybe not! but morally? definately!

I would like to know howcome they MP's expenses are checked when submitted BEFORE approval and why the Inland Revenue hasn't picked up on these claims.

Any normal emplyee submitting an expense claim has to justify and prove it, so why don't MP's.

Wednesday 13 May 2009

Formula 1

What is it with these teams? Max Mosely is trying to save the sport, and save everyone some money! Yes, the new regulations may split the teams up, but is that so bad? Stick to the £40M budget and the teams can spend more on development, less restrictions and more freedom. Don't and they have limitations placed on them. Surely that helps the smaller teams and makes it better for everyone, especially the fan. Or is this what some of them are afraid of? Not being able to spend £120M plus, or more importantly getting beaten by a team spending way way less than them?

Tuesday 12 May 2009

Recycling

Why is is that despite all the media hype and pressure to recycle most councils / communities don't or won't do it? Many will collect cardboard and plastic bags / bottles, and provide glass points, but not anything else. Yet the vast majority of the plastic containers are now recyclable, and the manufacturer's n stores go to great lengths to highlight this on the packaging. They say that the recycling plants aren't available, or cost to much. Yet they do in other countries. And surely this self same argument could have been used 15-20 years ago about cardboard or plastic bottles. It is until somebody invests in the plants that we WILL have the facilities avaiable. With all the pressure and money spent on making the packaging recyclable surely the next step MUST be made sooner or later? Or, how about selling it abroad? We but in some plastics for our recycling plants, so maybe some of the contintal plants would buy our yoghurt / marg etc tubs?

Feeling lousy

Come down with a stomach bug that is making me feel lousy. Havent eaten since breakfast yesterday, struggling to even keep water down! Spent most of yesterday and today with my new best friend, the toilet! LOL So is there another bug / viral infection doing the rounds? Does it last long? Had enough of it already! LOL

Sunday 10 May 2009

Spannish Grand Prix

Well, another race gone, and still McLaren can't seem to get the car up to the same standard as the rest of the teams, even Torro Rosso seem to have a better car at the moment. Begs the question, do they need Ron Dennis back at the helm of the F1 team? Have they lost some of their drive and determination? Or has the rear diffuser issue just got the entrie design and development team baffled? Well done Button though, another great win and another Brit on the top of the podium!

Saturday 9 May 2009

Costly exercise!

How many more 'bad' or 'wrong' or 'mistaken' expense claims are going to be revealed from the government? The same people that 10 years ago were claiming it was the tories that were dishonest!

£25k for security outside your house coz you don't feel safe? Then MOVE!

Claiming for cleaning, repairs, and god knows what else. Surely if you have to repair your house then you pay for it? NOT claim it as an expense? Whether it is the main or second home (what a waste of money) surely teh resident should pay for any repairs that are necessary whilst living in it?

Whatever next!

Friday 8 May 2009

Euromillions

WOW £110 million !

What a prize, but what are the odd's?

So many people are are going to be trying is it really worth it? Won't it just end up with thousands of people getting smaller prizes.

But hey, could still be worth a go LOL

Great idea - Mile high weddings!

What a fantastic idea - the chance to get married a mile up in the sky on an airliner!

Be a great day, and a very special and different way to start married life together - bet the wedding photos are fun too!

ANd think of the talking points at parties etc, how many other people will eb able to say that they got married a mile up?

Wonder how much it cost's though? Coudl be a bit pricey at the moment!

Wonder if you get the chance to join the mile high club during your mile high wedding? LOL

Wednesday 6 May 2009

Champions League

Chelsea V Barcalona..

What an great game, and what a way to end it! Barca scoring in extra time to book their place in the final against man utd!

Going to be good, and although they were out how did Drogba and Co get away with their behaviour at the end. Fot crowding, abusing and pulling on the ref they should have been given RED cards, not a solitary yellow for Drogba. And EUFA should be charging them under the discipline code, or it's a mockery.

Tuesday 5 May 2009

Are police driver's any better than the rest of us?

Over 3000 accidents lasy year alone, and thats the reported one's!

You can argue that police car's do a lot more miles than most drivers. But not all. How many sales rep companies clock up as many if not more miles, but less accidents?

Putting this aside, many of these accidents woudl result in you or me getting fined, points on our licence or at least a severe rollocking by any police officer that saw us.

I mean, pulling out of junctions without looking (careless or dangerous driving? driving without due care or attention?)

Reversing without looking? (as above)

Turning in the road without looking or indicating (as above yet again!)

And best of all, it doesn't affect their insurance, just the amount of tax we pay to help them (after all we fund them as part of our council tax - explains the huge increase doesn't it!)

Doesn't this make them a bit hypocritical when they pull us for the same things that they are doing?

Monday 4 May 2009

Animal cruelty!

Do we really care about how the animals that end up on our plates are treated? What conditions they are forced to live, adn die in, just so that we can enjoy a nice meal!

Sometimes I think the answer is yes, so long as it is pushed into the public eye, and actually effects people emotionally and financially.

But have a thought, click HERE for more info.

Bank holiday fun

Had a great day today, been out with a few mates, enjoyed a laugh in the fresh air, played a bit of footie and had a few beer's!

Well, it was actually a family day out - me and a couple of mates took the otehr halves n kids out for the day.

Took a picnic and played in the sunshine, how it should be!

Roast dinner

It's sunday, traditionally the day of the good old british roast dinner.

But do people still do it?

I know that I do, and I love it... different meat's - chicken, pork, lamd or beef. So long as it has all the veggies n trimmings!

What about you? WHat are you view's on this wonderful meal? And what is your favourite?

Saturday 2 May 2009

Britain's got talent .... or not

Have you seen tonight's episode? Sat 02nd May?

OMG, a few were fantastic, but the rest were just awful, scarily awful.... why oh why would you want to put yourself through that?

I knwo it takes guts to stand up n perform in front of thousands, but surely they must know they are crap? Or have friends / family that are honest enough to tell them the truth?

Friday 1 May 2009

Great weather

Its another bank holiday weekend, so lets hope the weather holds and the sun stays with us for a change.

Can't wait for a bit of R&R in the sunshine, 3 days off.... wonderful.
